UAE’s Hope Probe, The first Arab interplanetary mission to Mars

The Insights

The Emirates Mars Mission (Hope Probe), the Arab world’s first interplanetary mission, is a historic leap for the UAE. However, our understanding was that its impact needed to extend beyond reaching Mars. With global space agencies conducting long-term research, Hope Probe had to remain relevant and distinctive. Given the high failure rate of Mars missions, careful communication was crucial to protecting the UAE’s positioning.

Beyond scientific milestones, the mission had to translate complex data into compelling narratives that sustain public interest. More than a technical triumph, Hope Probe had to inspire future exploration, engage the next generation, and drive global collaborations in planetary science.

Imagination

The mission called for an ambitious communication strategy that reflected the magnitude of this historic achievement and its global scientific impact. We aimed to inspire audiences across generations through a 360-degree social media campaign, that even found its way to outdoor screens and landmarks across the UAE. Through creative storytelling, dynamic visuals, and strategic messaging, we wanted a narrative that positioned the Emirates Mars Mission not only as a success for the UAE but also as a contribution to humanity’s collective journey into space exploration.

Integration

Our social media campaign transformed this groundbreaking mission into a digital storytelling success, driving curiosity and engagement. Through targeted content and real-time updates, we sparked global conversations on Mars exploration. With over 26.23 million post impressions, 224,800 interactions, and a 6.83% engagement rate, we connected science enthusiasts, experts, and the general public, making the Hope Probe’s discoveries accessible to all.
