We are looking for an experienced and visionary Art Director to join our team at Quill, Beirut Office. The Art Director plays a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity of our creative projects, ensuring every element aligns seamlessly with the brand strategy and overarching creative vision. This leadership position involves guiding a team of talented designers, collaborating closely with cross-functional departments, and overseeing the visual execution of campaigns, advertisements, product packaging, and various other creative outputs. The ideal candidate will possess a sharp eye for design, exceptional leadership capabilities, and the ability to transform concepts into captivating visual narratives.

The Art Director will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, often juggling multiple projects and deadlines. The role may require occasional travel for client meetings or on-site production work. Flexibility in working hours may also be necessary, depending on project demands.

Key Responsibilities:

Creative Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of designers, illustrators, photographers, and other creatives, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to project timelines.
  • Develop and maintain a consistent visual style across all projects, ensuring alignment with the brand’s identity and strategic goals.
  • Provide creative direction for campaigns, advertisements, digital media, print materials, packaging, and more.

Concept Development:

  • Collaborate with the Creative Director, copywriters, and account managers to develop innovative concepts that meet client objectives.
  • Translate creative briefs into visual concepts and oversee their execution from ideation to final production.
  • Present creative ideas and concepts to clients, stakeholders, and senior management, clearly articulating the rationale behind design choices.

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that all deliverables meet deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as marketing, production, and client services, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Oversee the entire design process, from initial sketches and mockups to final artwork and production.

Quality Assurance:

  • Review and approve all visual materials before they are presented to clients or go into production, ensuring they meet the required standards of quality and creativity.
  • Conduct regular design critiques, providing constructive feedback to team members to enhance their skills and the overall quality of work.
  • Ensure that all creative outputs are consistent with the brand’s guidelines and standards.

Client Collaboration:

  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs, goals, and feedback, ensuring that the final creative solutions meet their expectations.
  • Attend client meetings and presentations, representing the creative team and providing insights on visual strategies.

Innovation and Trends:

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, design techniques, and emerging technologies, incorporating them into the team’s work where appropriate.
  • Encourage experimentation and innovation within the team to push the boundaries of design and creativity.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Visual Communication, or related field, with 5+ years in senior design roles, including 2+ years in leadership.
  • Proven success in leading creative projects across advertising, branding, and digital media, with a strong portfolio demonstrating innovative visual and conceptual skills.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), with a strong understanding of typography, color theory, composition, and visual hierarchy. Familiarity with UI/UX, motion graphics, 3D design, animation, and video production is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and mentorship abilities, with experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, creative agency environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate creative concepts and strategies to clients and team members.
  • Experience working with global brands or on large-scale campaigns.
